Employer: Massachusetts Association of Conservation Districts Position/Title: Executive Director Employment Status: Part-Time, Exempt, Salary Based on Education and Experience ($30,000 max.) Three month probationary period Hours: 20 hrs/wk max. Posting Date: November 25, 2009 Closing Date: December 24, 2009 Contact: Kim at maacd@maacd.org The MACD Executive Director shall provide assistance to Massachusetts Association of Conservation Districts and its partners in carrying out conservation and wise management of soil, water and related resources. The MACD Executive Director reports to the MACD Board and is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership of all the operations of the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Districts (MACD), a collaboration of 14 Massachusetts Conservation Districts in a statewide organization whose mission is to strengthen the individual districts, to assist the individual districts with Regional and Statewide problems, to sponsor legislation beneficial to all, to provide forums and workshops for discussion and solution of mutual problems, and to strengthen goals and policies of the districts by providing them with an opportunity to speak with one voice.” Conservation district supervisors work directly with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to deliver technical assistance to the people of Massachusetts. Each conservation district is a voice for the community, providing leadership on conservation issues and establishing priorities for conservation activities and programs. In this role, the Executive Director will actively seek fundraising opportunities for MACD and the Districts and will work with the MACD Board to develop and implement an ongoing fundraising program to support both the current operating needs and long-term financial stability of MACD. The MACD Executive Director will maintain and develop MACD's programs and services, and oversee operations and administration of the MACD organization. The MACD Executive Director will oversee all MACD staff and be responsible for grant, contract and consultant oversight, program and service management, and creating measurement, outcome and performance standards. The MACD Executive Director will also be responsible for providing advice and counsel to the MACD Board in order to enhance the organization's ability to carry out its mission, for providing leadership in community building and advocacy regarding local conservation issues, and for serving as MACD's public spokesperson.
